Listen To Selena Gomez's Emotional New Song From '13 Reasons Why: Season 2'

Season 2 of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and its accompanying soundtrack will make their grand reveal in just a week, but a brand-new song from Selena Gomez called "Back To You" off the compilation dropped on Friday (May 11) and it should appease fans' appetites for the time being.

Following in the footsteps of her recent Kygo and Marshmello dance collabs, the almost-four minute track hears Gomez singing about a lover who she can't shake off. "I wanna hold you when I’m not supposed to/ When I'm lying close to someone else/ You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it/ If I could do it all again I know I'd go back to you," the 25-year-old pop star sings during the hook. The cut was produced by Trackside & Ian Kirkpatrick.

In an interview surrounding the release, Gomez said that her contribution to this year's soundtrack is much more authentic to her compared to "Only You," her track on the Season 1 soundtrack. "'It Ain't Me,' 'Wolves,' and 'Back to You' all have this acoustic guitar or effect of live music with a hint of what those DJs do best, so I find that I’m attracted to those kind of records because you could strip it down," she explained. "That is something I’m very attracted to and that’s why I knew that 'Back to You' would be a perfect stepping stone, because I had a hard time picking what was gonna be next."

Additional cuts on the forthcoming soundtrack include new songs from OneRepublic featuring LogicBillie Eilish featuring KhalidYUNGBLUD featuring Charlotte Lawrence and more.
